The application for the 2027-28 school year will open on October 15, 2026.
Application Deadline: January 15, 2027 at 11:59pm.

Application Requirements:
- School Transcript or Official Grade Report. We request a 1-page or condensed version of the transcript or grade report.
- Disciplinary records for grades 6, 7, and 8.
- Attend Exploration Day. Exploration Day will give all student applicants the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a MarinSEL student.
- *Please note, no supplemental application materials or additional teacher/mentor assessments will be accepted.
Teacher/Mentor Assessment:
Please request your teacher assessment through the application portal. Two (2) teacher/mentor assessments are required.
You will be asked to input your teacher’s or mentor’s organization/school, their first name, last name, phone number, and email address. Once this information is inputted, you will be prompted to send them the request. They will receive an email with the assessment request to their inbox, where they will be asked to follow the instructions there.
The assessment request is the last page of the application. After completing the first page of the application, you may skip to the end, submit the request, then go back to complete your application.
Assessments will be accepted until January 15, 2027.

Attention Out-of-District Applicants:
Students must live within the boundaries of the San Rafael City School District in order to be eligible for admission.
