Shadow
The mission and purpose of the School of Environmental Leadership (SEL) is to transform public education by building leaders for a just and sustainable world, through an innovative model which is sustainability-focused, equity forward, and centered in rigorous, interdisciplinary problem-based learning with community collaboration at the heart. We offer unparalleled learning opportunities where students create measurable change with increased ownership and independence over their education experience.

A blend of academics, leadership, development, public speaking, creative arts, technology, engineering, project management, environmental justice, and community service are all integrated to create a highly relevant and engaging educational experience.

The Four C’s define foundational areas of student development which also drive academic success and career readiness: Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity.

The SEL’s flagship school, MarinSEL, opened in 2011. Located in San Rafael, CA, it is located at Terra Linda High School in the San Rafael City School district.
